One of the main complaints of plus-size women, and men, is finding clothing that fits and is stylish as well. But, this doesn’t have to be the case. With these tips in mind, you can get clothing to fit well and be stylish on you. Your clothing doesn’t have to be expensive or high end.
You don’t need to look like a model to be beautiful.
All you need is yourself, your sense of style and perhaps a friend to lend a second pair of eyes and some advice. This may seem obvious, but when you go into the store and start looking around, find clothing that actually fits you. And this does not always have to mean what is written on the tag.
Try everything on and look in the mirror; does the style of the plus-size clothing match your style and personality? Are you laid back and prefer a more casual style? Or do you want to go with the big business look? Have a friend or store employee tell you, honestly, which top or skirt or pants looks great on you.
Be clear on what you want. Tell your friend or the employee that you are going for, say, “a casual look that will make you appear slimmer and still be able to be worn to work.” Then they can help you better by offering suggestions you might not have thought of.
Of course, the size on the tag matters a bit as well. If it is too tight in one size and too loose in the next size up then perhaps it just doesn’t fit, unless you love it so much you absolutely have to get it so you can take it in or have it tailored.
Get your money’s worth. Unless it is an occasion that calls for one wearing, find clothing that will last through more than a few washings. If you are budget conscious, you can still find great plus-size fashions that are beautiful, inexpensive and will last.
