Plus size figures vary from woman to woman. Some women are heavier at the top of their body and some heavier at the bottom. Some women carry their curves directly in the center of the body while others have a more proportionately round body type. Each of these body types requires different styles in order to really accentuate the features that you feel are the most beautiful while downplaying those areas that make you feel self concious.
One of the most common body types is often referred to as the Apple Body Type
Styling the Apple Type Plus-Sized Figure
The typical Apple body type carries most of the woman’s weight around the middle. This can make some styles more difficult to wear than others, especially fitted tops. The apple is one of the more challenging body types to dress confidently if you are not in tune to your body’s needs. Fortunately, it is also one of the easiest to dress once you know how to take advantage of your curves and lines appropriately. Focus on the positive, those areas that make you feel beautiful. You may have full breasts and a wide back.
- One of the first tips is to avoid the tent-look! Try out a floaty tee or dress top in a tunic style. Rather than simply cut open and large, a tunic style hugs your shoulders, arms and accentuates the breast area while skimming the larger area around the waist.
- Draw the eyes down to accentuate your hips while avoiding a “muffin top” look. Try a shirt that meets the largest point of the hips.
- Draw the eyes upwards with a lower neckline and a dynamic piece of jewelry.
The Apple body type is just one of the many figures that can be beautiful with Plus Size style.
